Special Year in Geometric Integration

GIIG Geometric Integration Interest Group at FoCM

As a part of the program for the special year, there will be three workshops.

Workshop 1: Oscillatory problems, Lie-group methods and their linear algebra.
The aim of this workshop is to study applications of Geometric Integration methods to oscillatory problems. Attention will also be devoted to Lie-group methods and related linear algebra problems and applications.

Workshop 2: MaGIC '03
This is an informal workshop particularly devoted to PhD students and Post Docs. The program is quite free, with time for seminars, personal study, social events and outdoor activities.

Workshop 3: Geometric and Structure Preserving Algorithms for PDEs
A one-week workshop with focus on PDEs, their geometry and their numerical solution by geometric methods.

Location: CAS, Oslo
May 12-15, 2003

In addition, there will be a summer school that will feature an introductory course in Geometric Integration.
